Message from Rev. Larry Maugh:
It's budget time again!!! All committee chairs, we need your budget request as soon as possible. We want to be certain to budget all of the wonderful ministry we are going to be engaged in this year. God has truly blessed us, let us be a blessing to the world around us.
As we approach Charge Conference, we need to be mindful of our many ministry opportunities. We have openings in our Sunday School Program for teachers and students. There are openings in the areas of: fellowship, evangelism, worship, discipleship, missions, liturgy, finance, trustees, care calling, youth ministry, choir, sound technology, praying, and ……what a great time to be in ministry. Won't you join us as we begin a new year together? It is exciting to watch where Christ is leading us.
Message from Lynn Dulaney:
Sunday School for this year is now underway. We hope everyone will come because there is a place for you and your child!! Keep in mind that help with Sunday School is always needed whether you assist a class, substitute, or teach. The Sunday School program is extremely important for our church. Candy Shipp and I are team teaching the youth class. We will be doing activities as a group then dividing into groups of boys and girls for discussion time. We are very excited about this, and hope the youth will be, too.
Also, Promotion Sunday will Aug. 29. All of our school age children will be recognized during the morning worship service. The Fifth Sunday Potluck will follow the service, and we will have an ice cream sundae station for our children, so please come!! If you have any questions about Sunday School or would like to volunteer, please call me at 519-1409.
Message from Pat Bibb:
The Methodist team for The Relay For Life fundraiser will take place at the Relay for Life Walk on August 27. We will need "walkers" from 6:30 to 12:30 that evening. If you are not interested in taking a walking shift, we will be selling ice-cold slices of watermelon for $1 each. We will need people to "man the tent", slicing, and selling the melon. I think our peak selling time will be from about 6:30 to 9:30. Call Pat at 363-6109 for more information.
